New! Salmon & Sea Trout Fishing

Written by Charlie Gladstone.

Exclusively for Glen Dye Guests

Today I want to tell you that from the beginning of the next salmon season, February 1st, we will be offering free salmon fishing to our residential guests on the River Feugh, about five miles from our properties.

The Feugh is a direct tributary of the fabled River Dee, and our beat is about two miles upstream from the point where the rivers meet.

The fishing will not be available to anyone who is not staying with us.

The Feugh is a nice, small salmon river with generally navigable banks and some good stony beaches.

A complicated deal struck by my father about 50 years ago (which I still don’t really understand, though lawyers seem to) means that our beat has just come back into our ownership.

We have over a mile of the south bank, which we will allow just two rods to use on any given day.

The river is fly only and as with many rivers in Scotland, we operate a strict catch and release policy with salmon in order to preserve stocks. There are also sea trout and brown trout.

But let’s not worry about what to do with the fish when you catch them, the fun is in having a wonderful, quiet, magical stretch of river to idle away your days.

To celebrate the fact that we have this beat back and can offer it to you, we have a special deal exclusive to all Glen Dye guests staying with us during the season.
